Professor John Jones, Toowoomba Grammar School 1945-1948
Professor John Jones was a student at Toowoomba Grammar School from 1945-1948. He was the President of the Geological Society of Australia and acknowledged as a world authority on the classification of gem opal.
John Zillman is a world leader in the science and management of meteorology. He is recognised for his distinguished service on a wide range of national and international panels and advisory bodies dealing with science policy.
Ray Bange is a nationally recognised policy consultant and operational strategist with an abiding interest in healthcare service delivery. His career has encompassed over 40 years in senior executive roles in the public and private sectors in Australia, Hong Kong and other Asian centres including work with aid agencies, educational bodies, public integrity bodies and law enforcement agencies.
Professor John Boldeman is a nuclear scientist, best known for his work on the ANTARES Tandem Accelerator and the Australian synchrotron. He is a winner of many scientific awards and medals, including an ANZAAS Medal in 2007, the Clunies Ross Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as an being officer of the order of Australia.

Major General Professor John Pearn, Brisbane Grammar School, 1957
Old Boy Major General Professor John Pearn AO RFD ’57 has made a difference in the lives of many, through more than five decades of work as an academic. In 2009 Prof Pearn was awarded an Order of Australia (AO) for service to medicine.
In 2014 Jason was granted the title of Professor NHMRC Research Fellow at UQ, Consultant Clinical Pharmacist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
Chief Justice Patrick Keane, Gregory Terrace, 1961-69
Began his practice at the Queensland Bar in 1978 and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 1988. In 2005, he was appointed a Judge of the Queensland Court of Appeal. Awarded Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia in 2010. In 2013, he became a Justice of the High Court of Australia.
